Yummy! The Duck & sticky rice is just as I remember it when I was in Singapore many years ago, it looked just as amazing as I remember it. Very many thanks for sharing Dan. From Scotland 🤗x

If tourists wish to visit a commoners' neighbourhood, take the MRT to a housing estate such as Toa Payoh or Clementi. You can savour all kinds of local food at the hawker centres and coffee shops. Some coffee shops have a stall that cater all kinds of order-to-cook Chinese cuisines such as chilli crabs, sweet and sour pork, claypot curry fishhead and hot plate tofu which are much cheaper than those restaurants in the city area.

Thanks for your suggestion, that sounds really awesome. In fact, I wish I had more time in Singapore to go and explore more 'local' types of hawker centres, instead of the usual ones!

I don’t eat the shell tails. 😁And it seems you were missing the chili/sambal belacan on the braised duck rice which imo is 50% of the taste, really makes the dish. You have a great palate! 👍

Alright, I agree on not eating tails then 😂 aahh, the sambal, you're right, not gonna make this mistake again!

You can google "pinyin" which should give you additional information (if you're interested) 🎓
